Any layoff expected in bny ?
Any word on layoffs at JPM?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

There’s is absolutely NO shame at all putting that job and then clarifying in your interviews that you were let go due to staffing cuts from the pandemic. Employers have sympathy for Covid lay offs - don’t let your exit diminish the work you did there!
Interview is done just a background check but don't want this to be an issue for future interviews
You could say reduction in workforce. I don't know why you would feel the need to lie. It doesn't look bad because it wasn't due to individual performance.
Phrase it however you want. Just don’t flat out lie.
That wouldn’t ding you. Just be truthful
Would that not be an issue if the employer sees or future employers? Layoffs invariably always look negative i feel
Layoffs are not considered negative. The only negative would be if everyone in your market were laid off competing for the same job's. More competition.
Further on in the background check, they have asked if I was ever terminated or asked to resign from a job?
I have to respond yes to that right?
Resign = covid layoff?
