I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.

Last tech + managerial round was on 10th Nov. Got HR call on 17th Nov. Told my expected package and she didn't seem to have any issue. On 22nd Nov, got a call from the consultant at taggd who has been arranging all my interviews. Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Market rents have risen 70-100% in the same timeframe. All seem like ideal tenants (retired and take great care of the units) but I’d like advice on how to approach the rent increase conversation. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

- HQ built like a prison: few windows, thick security, & drab colors for miles. Their campus parking garage would experience its own rush hour gridlock with cars at a standstill waiting for the light outside to turn green so they could hop on 285

- they think they’re the Yankees: if you’re batting.385, but they think there is someone out there who can bat .400, you’re going to get fired

- they will openly discuss at a meeting why you suck

- Reed Hastings' leadership style was once described as being "unencumbered by emotion". A VP once told him he's not a good listener and tends to be unempathetic.

- closed culture with extremely compartmentalized information, working on a small piece of the puzzle, with reduced ability to demonstrate true value, unless already high up. 
- collaboration across teams is made unusually difficult and doesn’t seem encouraged.
- not remote friendly -- making everyone go back
