2 years of experience and volunteer experience doesn’t mean you’re ready for a mgmt role. Some more tenure in your role will give you natural leadership opportunities which help qualify you for a true mgmt position.
This ^. I hate to say it but most people are not going to take you seriously as a manager with two years of experience.

Are you in consulting now? It’s very easy to get project management experience as an analyst in consulting. Seek out projects where you can be a PMO analyst (project management office). You’ll basically help the project and/or program manager and will get exposure to how this works. You’ll also set yourself up to manage your own projects down the line.

It will be grossly unfair to you and the people /project who you think you can manage , if you have 0 professional management experience. There is a night and day between personal and professional experience
If you really want to do it, start your own firm.

That’s not enough to get a management role in the vast majority of places. I think it’s a great goal and worth looking for a role that gives you an opportunity to gain these skills and that has a clear path to a management role
For a bit more context, I'm looking for project management or assistant management positions at much smaller companies. Current place's internal growth is incredibly slow, and I'm looking to stretch farther than this company allows.
