At this point I really don't know of any other path for us. i have no desire to have to quit my job, and cannot be guaranteed of another one, but it is absolutely untenable at this point, and Amazon is at the critical mass size of downright needing a union. It's basically it's own industry.
I am not a fan of unions. I think they do more harm than good.
I don’t trust that a union would have better negotiating power than Amazon to get us good insurance at a decent rate. My opinion.
For a company to fight against unionization so hard makes it more obvious. Having a union and a union rep back you up gives you more bargaining power in appeals and other HR-related things. It’s not just about pay but giving power to employees so Amazon can’t terminate you just because of budget cuts or something silly.
All I can say is that those workers are resilient and brave. I have a mixed opinion about this. I just hope the union could give them more power to address their concerns.
I am silently rooting for them. I just hope they will not face problem after problem and eventually lose the will to fight.
