Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?
Got an offer for a sales applications manager role at Cisco and a Strategic AE role at Amazon - both are basically the same pay (130~ base, 220 OTE)

How long does Amazon take to release offer letter? It has been a week since the recruiter called and told me I was selected. I also have the salary breakup and date of joining given. Only offer letter is not yet released. How many days does it usually take for Amazon to release offer letter. Waiting so I can give resignation to my current organization. Thanks. Amazon Amazon India

I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Agreed, Vault is terrible. A handful of opinions on here is far more accurate than a standardized poll of our peers.
It’s not only about hours. It’s also about internal flex programs, predictability, etc. I prefer working more hours but with better predictability (e.g. knowing I’ll be off Thursday at 19:00) rather than the reverse
It’s work/life balance. Yes, we work harder than Big 4, but our lives our also better, hence the higher rating 😜

That’s crazy. I always thought mbb was unforgivingly tough on your personal life like ib which doesnt sounds like the case
^its tough in the sense that a bad DD/strategy project can be extremely demanding. And during that study you might work many hours/even on the weekends sometimes. But zooming out and looking at the overall picture, MBB makes a huge commitment to finding ways to balance work with your personal life. Not every case has to be crazy for your personal life- the firm would rather it not so that it’s sustainable and you don’t burn out and leave

Yes MBB is worse but that's expected. Some people (especially tech) at Big 4 expect 40h weeks, like a normal software developer job.

I hate you all! On a serious note, what is an average week for mbb? Bcg1 what kind of flex programs?
I work average of 60h a week (Europe based 3.5 years of experience). Flex programs: Leave of Absence (1-2 months is pretty common here ), 80% (mostly as of manager or principal), MBA sponsorships, secondment, etc.
I also get to flex a lot during the week (if not traveling). So I can start at 11am Weds if I want and no one cares.
Flex programs and knowing your schedule ahead of time are huge! I work ~55 hours a week, so the total hours aren’t too bad, and anything above 60 consistently would be known around the office as a tough case
What?! So this is an option every week for less pay or just a perk altogether and you get paid the same
What’s the longest you all have heard of someone being on the bench for considering the projects are much shorter like 6-8 weeks. <—- is that right?
