Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Attorneys with the firm often send firm-wide emails advising of in house openings with a corporate client, and solicit recommendations or resumes of qualified candidates. Usually the client contact is a hiring manager for the position. How do I show interest without completely shooting myself in the foot? I'm considering switching from Public Accounting (tax) to industry as a Financial Analyst - is this feasible?
