Sorry, I am of no help but following because so too would love a book. I do have a goal app that might be helpful to you?
When I taught kinder I would use books and create units around the book. An example the Giving Tree I used the book to teach kids how to share, be kind to one another, I also taught sentence structure. This I did after they learned to write their name of course. You can also teach seasons with the book. You will need to get an idea of where the kiddos are you might have some that already know their letters and the sounds so just conduct a basic phonemic skills test. Easy CBM has some of these assessments for free. Most districts as mentioned do have their own IEP online system. I would start with the BPST to gauge where the kids are and then teach from there. Hope this helps. I enjoyed teaching kinder I taught dual immersion for many years. My kiddos learned to read and write in Spanish and English.
Make sure you keep good track of the assessments you give them and the rest will be a piece of cake because the assessments will guide your instruction. These will definitely help you create goals geared towards each of your kiddos needs.

You can start to see if they can identify the letters of the alphabet and if they know any of the letter sounds. You will be teaching them to identify the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. Don’t get discouraged if a lot of them don’t know them. Are you teaching mild moderate or moderate severe?
I use the common core standards for my goals... now how to get there... are you teaching remotely or in-person? Still there are basics: 1) repeat instruction, provide graphics and word list, extra time, give student # of attempts before ascertaining success, manipulative, color coding!
Same here common core is the new norm.
Thank you .
Happy First Year of teaching !!
I have been special education teacher for twenty years and where you are teaching depends on what you should be reading. Of course, there are basic guidelines but I have found that each district, county and state has a way they like it. Your district should have guidelines specific to them. Do you use an online IEP program? I use SIRAS and it’s very helpful and has a great goal bank.
Read simplified books that repeat lines
Over and
Over such as “NO David” and let the children respond
And fill in your pausez
Pauses—sorry😂
