We never discuss politics at work, so I guess that's why I've never had an idea about what people's inclinations are. I heard my senior tell someone that they "don't see why Trump is being hated on so much. I actually think things are getting better since he's been in office". I'm not sure how I feel about this person anymore, and it's hard for me to mask my feelings about people. Do you let political opinions affect your relationships at work?

As someone who agrees with that person's perspective I'm so tired of us being the ones that are responsible for you feeling bad. I have to listen to the folks at work that dont like Trump all the time and am mature enough not or let it affect my opinion of them. I can work with them no problem. Grow up.

Try looking for a job right now

Letting politics affect your work relationships usually shows low emotional intelligence. We don’t have to agree with someone’s views to respect their role on the team. If politics bleeds into how you treat coworkers, it says more about your self control than about their opinions.

This is 100% correct

Ha! The entitlement of this conversation, both sides are comical. The fact that we Americans can bitch and moan and judge based on another person’s beliefs and opinions, which has ZERO impact on your ability to provide for you and yours (and will likely NEVER be in each others lives) is why the world laughs at us and thinks we’re idiots! Just stop. No one cares about your indignation, or your feelings of offense. Save that for your personal time and do what you signed your contract for - work in exchange for pay. Done.

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

My mother-in-law says he’s worked on things, but it’s been 10 years of this and I’m not sure I want such behavior around my wife and our kids since we’re trying to conceive soon (cont).

So, some of my co-workers simply said that they want to go ahead and start something or start looking elsewhere (career change) because they don't know how much it will last at the pace we are going in regards to case intake and pay out. Should I start panicking or simply start looking elsewhere? They even they even told me if I was looking elsewhere or planned on doing so also. I found it weird in a way.

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.
