What are roles in data that would allow me to liase between technical folks and business people? I'm a finance person that has learned and has applied a good amount of data techniques (i.e. Python) on actual client projects. That said, I'm not a coding wiz and consider myself a business person who's extremely competent in data rather than a tech person. Trying to find a good fit/career path for someone like me that has domain knowledge and is competent, but isn't a PhD in stats/compsci either.

ERP implementations fit this - all projects have reporting teams who spec out and write the reports which requires data and analytics skills and business skills to understand the underlying data. And functional consultants also need to understand the system, processes and data and translate business requirements to the developers too.

Thanks for the reply! Do you think ERP is still interesting for someone who came from a finance/strategy background? For reference, the team I'm currently on is in restructuring. While I find the work fun sometimes, it's also really stressful and demanding, which isn't a good fit for my personality/lifestyle.

I'd be going into ERPs knowing it'll be kind of boring. But, to me there is some beauty in taking a dysfunctional process, breaking it down into pieces, and then finding a solution that makes things work more efficiently.

I'm at a stage now of my life where I'm less concerned about full on prestige/salary and moreso looking for something I tolerate, will give me a decent paycheck, but also allow for life outside of work F-Sun. I don't mind working longer hours M-Th and even traveling, but I don't want to continue the M&A/Restructuring path of being on-call 24/7 and constantly being stressed with daily fire drills.

Business Intelligence/Analytics may be an option

I think EPM would be an awesome fit. Technology that helps with planning budgeting and forecasting for finance function

I am currently working in advertising with experience on fintech & CPG. I would like to work in tech marketing, specifically Google’s APMM program.
I’ve been studying some PM/PMM books/podcasts/videos, attending Google events, and want to keep learning more to try to prepare myself as much as I can.
What resources helped you get into product marketing/Google?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

So, I have been working on trying to get in as a SDR but I am also taking a course for my PMP certification. Is this of value or should I focus on something else?

I’ve tried googling and saw salaries ranging from 90-160k for similar positions so I’m trying to narrow down ..
