What are the thoughts on accepting one offer, then bailing before the start date if a better offer comes in?

I took a position at a lesser firm, since I didn't want the offer to disappear, and my current employer is a sinking ship.

I was told by the recruiter I'd hear back at COB yesterday. I have unfortunately not heard anything yet.

I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m a bit confused about share dilution and if it’s worth it for me to buy some of my stock options… thanks in adv!

Or is it better to have "projects highlights" separate from work experience.. something like: intro>functional expertise> project highlights>work experience>education?

I lived in VA for 8 months of 2019 and then moved to DC for the last 4 months.
