PWC wins title game. Director is fancier title but equivalent to an experienced senior manager at EY
No PwC did not replace director with senior manager. They have just added an extra step between manager and director. Before leaving PwC, my group generally promoted people to SM after having been manager for 2 years, which is more like an experienced manager at other firms that don’t have the director level.
Staff - senior - manager - senior manager - director/partner/principal
M1 to SM1 is typically three years. It can be done in two, but that's pretty rare and would be considered an "early promotion." As others have said, senior manager is the highest rank below "PPMDD" (partner/principal/managing director/director). As far as I know, "director" at EY is a non-client serving role, so HR or other support groups have directors. Partner/Principal and Managing Director are client serving.
all i know is that EY degrades its junior people by calling them, "staff." with how low b4 pay is, it’s kind of like insult to injury.
lol id never want to exit to your company, then. that’s awful. it’s funny that you think that just because a f50 company does something doesn’t mean it isn’t dumb or degrading.
