I chose option 2 and regret sacrificing lifestyle.
Cons: The hours are difficult and the team scope is broad bc the company is in hyper growth mode. The job impedes my social life as I can’t go out on weekdays and am exhausted on weekends (no change from consulting there😁). The standards are high bc the strategy team has high visibility.

Thoughts on sales strategy group at salesforce?
Get your certs > Get some working experience (industry or consulting) whether that is an internship or projects > select a track, Dev/Admin/PM/BA and decide what you'd like to do and continue scaling and branding yourself as you go along > apply for a job where you can start building that trajectory.
You should reach out to folks who you may aspire to be/work like and ask them for some general advice. Otherwise, this is how most of us in SFDC start out. Overall I would highly recommend Salesforce as a career choice because there are so many paths you can build towards. Dm me if you want more info
This is good advice. If you’re struggling to land your first Salesforce role, look into non-profits like Mercy Ships that rely on volunteer admins. Like many fields, you need some experience or a certification to get an “entry level” job (which you’re seeking to gain experience). A volunteer project or internship will give you something to list on your resume.
Here is a very good resource to learn more about careers in Salesforce. https://www.talentstacker.com/salesforce-for-everyone-podcast/
One thing I think gets overlooked is front end experience. People always want those jr admin roles and honestly there’s just not enough. If you’re struggling, try and find an internship that utilizes Salesforce as their crm. Front end experience still looks great on a resume if you word it correctly.
Career trajectory can vary, just depends where you want to go.
Can stay on the delivery side and be functional or technical.
Can move to account side and be more people management/sales.
Can try and move to more tech strategy and broaden your industry/tech stack knowledge.
wlb will depend on the above paths. On the delivery side It just depends on the project. I have consistent 30-40 hour weeks with an occasional 50+ hour week if we get behind on a deliverable.
