There is no such thing
Look at the YOE required and it may get you closer to an answer but I’ve seen people hired into roles of varying levels from cons to industry there’s no exact science.
Varies wildly from one industry firm to the next. I've been in and out of industry during my 15+ year career and worked at one industry firm that had something like 18 levels between campus hire and C-Suite, if memory serves, while another had 7.
A YOE crosswalk between a given industry firm and your consulting firm will do better than trying to figure out a blanket conversion between consulting and industry.
I agree. One of my clients has 6 levels of VP under the Presidents (3 of them) under the CEO. Another the same size and industry has 3 under the CEO. At the first I had a manager move to a VP role though he only has 3 directors and a total of 60 people.
This is an ACN title Manager.
We have 4 levels of MD.
I was a Senior at EY and got a M title in industry. Same responsibilities though. Managers = directors
Maybe at firms where director is smaller than VP (insurance firms etc). At most big banks where director is bigger than VP, M in consulting =VP. I was one and had several M level friends depart for big banks. All as VP's
