Hi Everyone! I have been working in Salesforce for about a year now. But I am not enjoying my work as it's mainly on backend. I have been wanting to move to Web Dev. But someone suggested that like if I like frontend I should try LWC instead as I'm already into Salesforce. So I'm quite confused which way should I go. Can anyone help me with the same Tata ConsultancyAccentureDeloitteZS AssociatesInfosysSalesforceSalesforceAmazonMicrosoft

I applied a couple years ago as bcg Principal (AP) and there wasn’t any chance at a Director role.
Not FAANG but APs typically join as Directors at Microsoft (L65)
YOE?
12, 6 in consulting and the prior 6 in a variety of marketing consulting / start up roles. Came in as an experienced hire rather than through MBA.
“Head of [something]”.
“Director” maybe if you’re really strong in your area but I wouldn’t expect it. Forget about Vp
With that experience, it might be more feasible to get Director
Senior Manager/Director roles
Thanks p1 and sorry to hear that. I see a lot of roles with titles like “lead” - what does that mean? They have varied from 5+ to 10+ YOE (talking specifically about Apple)
And how would those exits change if I stick it out to Partner first?
Improve significantly
Surprised at the low levels for someone only 1 year away from partner. At my Nasdaq listed 20b revenue company, group VPs for things like treasury, fp&a, IR etc Def seemed below MBB partner level.
Try becoming a director at Adobe. Good hours, good $, great benefits
I was a brand and marketing consultant with similar YOE. I found firms very willing for me to join as a senior manager / director. Title often varies depending on geography - eg I ended up exiting to a senior manager, but the same job in the US is titled Director.
So, rather than targeting titles I’d ask about responsibilities, expectations, YOE required. It will probably give you a better read than going just on title.
For G here’s a map. Partner - Director. AP - head of xx. EM - manager. Don’t get too hung up with title, $ is at least equivalent if not more than what u make at MBB. Stress and hours are ~half of MBB.
Mentor
Yes for SWE. Data science director is closer to 600-700k (friends brother is a director)
M2 is right.
Agree, don’t get hung up on title. We all think that we’ll leave mbb as vp and it’s a bit frustrating when you realize it’s not the case in tech. The reality is that there’s a lot to learn and those companies have their picking at talent.
I had offers in Fang (“head of” kind of lvl) but left to a smaller tech company as Sr Director, and got promoted to Vp in 18m. Title wasn’t much of a factor in my decision but rather the preference for going to a smaller company where i can have impact vs big where I’m just another ex-mbb
What about VP at G?
