Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

after trying to work for a private group practice I realized how much I took having a consistent salary and benefits for granted. If I can find a company who is supportive with fun people to work with, that goes a long way. Health insurance, PTO, and retirement are the benefits I most value.
That’s very helpful thanks!
Responding super late but I prefer salaries versus fee for service. Time off, holidays, and sick leave disability insurance because most people will be disabled at some point, retirement benefits with a match, flexibility in schedule and wfh options. I am chronically ill so all these are things I think about because they could impact my quality of life.
At this point in my life, I value retirement and benefits. I considered private practice but most do not offer benefits or retirement. Due to the climate in this country there may not be social security, so retirement is a must. The good thing is as a fully licensed therapist I can make extra money on the side.
