Nothing you can do until it’s fixed.
You can try using hotspot or going to a coffee shop if it’s urgent work, but I usually just take a nap until it’s fixed.
I’m using my phone as a hot spot right now to at least get through e-mails. I just didn’t know if there’s an expectation that if you live near an office you need to go in.
Take PTO or go somewhere with working internet
Over 15 minutes offline, my pay is docked until I'm back on. I literally have to drive into the office or take PTO.
D1 it is literally written into the employee handbook. When my internet went down one time and I took 20 minutes to troubleshoot, my boss called my cell and told me he was clocking me out, and I may want to consider driving to the office.
He recommended I change my phone plan to one that allows my phone to be used as a hot spot.
Work at a cafe or coworking space.
Rising Star
I would use my hotspot and call my internet company to come fix it ASAP. If it's still not working by the next day then maybe consider going into the office while it gets fixed. But typically those issues can be resolved within a day
I hotspot off my phone. 5G is plenty fast enough for emails, webpages and working on documents.
When the internet breaks at the office that’s IT’s issue. Bummer
Get better internet. I paid for the pro speeds and haven’t gone back
You should have a backup plan for internet. It could be a second service provider with slower speeds, etc. (since your home wifi isn’t as robust and well maintained as office wifi)
Depends on what’s on the docket for the day. Usually can manage tethering to my phone if no client facing meetings that require video + presenting. Coffee shops nearby can be good too but not ideal if you need to be on video
Coffee shops have open wifi, librarys often have reservable private rooms. If either of those are more convenient than going into the office, i would take that route first.
No internet can be tough.
If need to be on video for a call or two, some local libraries offer private rooms to reserve
Hotspot on my phone or go someplace wifh free wifi (thankfully i have 3 within 10-15 min walking distance and 2 more within 5-6 min driving distance (only needed to do any of thys 3-4 tines over the past 4 yrs). If heaven forbid i know it’ll be down for mots than a day, then I’d go to the office.
