The grass really is always greener, isn't it? I'm in office five days a week and would love nothing more than to be able to work remotely again. Even a hybrid schedule would be a great change of pace. I don't even dislike being in the office, it's just so hard to get everything done at home when I spend the majority of my week away from it.
I had a job where I worked at the office 4 days a week and from home on Fridays. I enjoyed the hours because I still felt in the loop at the office but didn't have the hassle of Friday afternoon traffic. Plus I spent the day at home finishing up on projects and was fully prepared for Monday morning without any catch up work from the week before.

When I was looking for a job I had two solid offers, one was fully remote and the other was hybrid. I specifically went for the hybrid because I know I'm not a fully remote kind of person and like the human interaction. Being single and living alone, a remote job can be a bit isolating so it's not for me. It's so much easier to find in office jobs vs remote so if someone wants to go back on, findind a new job would be easier.
I think a huge part also depends on the office and the culture in it. Where I used to work, I could be in the office all day, full of people, but not speak to a single person. When I went fully remote, I was on the phone constantly for meetings, check ins, etc. The people directly in my office were so clique-y and unfriendly and all about networking up the ladder, but around the firm/across the country, everyone was eager to connect with those in other offices. I found more sociability being remote than in an office of 500+!
That's an interesting question, and I go back and forth on it. I'm working remotely now, but I do appreciate how much I learned while working among other people. And I do miss the camaraderie that just naturally develops. Having said that, I do not miss commuting, and a lot of the travel and other hassles do seem pointless. So I'm fine staying remote, but I can see some value in being in the office.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. Working from home is great, but I think I’d be more productive and connected if I could go back even part-time. It’s hard to recreate that office buzz!
There are a lot of positions out there that are fully in office now if you really wanted to go back. We are on a hybrid schedule now and I like that, it still gives us some flexibility. While I love work from home days, the one thing about the office is the clear boundary of leaving and being at work.
I have also heard a lot of people say they were going to quit over being forced to return to the office. Though for many people that means their childcare situation is going to change which an be a lot to deal with so I get it. I am glad I don't have to go into the office but one day a week.
I would like a job as an administrative assistant anywhere at this point. Office, hybrid or remote. A job where I can grow my skills and earn a decent income
Lucky, I’ve only ever worked on location I wish I could find a remote position
