In 2021 m1 HCOL started at 200. Only JD, no llm at Ey. At PwC it was around 180 as I recall.

Could run from like 160 to 240 or so depending on firm, practice, and performance.

I’d say 140-150 for INTL maybe 160-170 for M&A but not 100%. Im at 135 as a M1 in MCOL/LCOL

If there are M&A M1s making 160 in a high cost market, they are very underpaid.

I made that as a M1 five plus years ago.

EY FSRM role OR JPMC PM role OR Shell Market Risk role

Requirement - relatively better work life balance / stable pay
YOE - 4.5 yrs
All offers are more or less equivalent in terms of compensation (though fixed & bonus are highest at Shell) - close to 27 LPA total CTC

Have worked in a consulting firm and so know about the wlb there!

With 11 yrs YOE and having skills in dimensional Modeling,data warehouse ,ETL and Reporting , what should be the salary expectation in market. I have switched from 12 LPA to 26 LPA on feb 2022 as my first switch with IC role as ETL developer . Now looking for data architect role. Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case. Trials are rare, and I just don’t think these guys have actually tried many cases. Cont. below…

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law
