I'm 52, have a net worth of $2.3M with the house. Good enough for me.
I’m similar. What is your retirement goal?
28 31.7MM in invested assets. 2.1MM in auto investments. 14ish MM in real estate and a plan to buy as many houses as possible in the coming recession with financing already secured. Some of you are proud at your lazy lifestyle. Good for you…
Late start, first gen immigrant, 41 yo
Roughly 400k in 401 and index funds, home 50% paid off, another 150k home (paid off) offshore.
Still long way before I can retire
53; $6m in investment (including 401K); $3m in home equity (2 homes paid off), no debt and will retire with a $275k per year annuity from my current B4 retirement plan. We are immigrants so we have lived frugally and now started to enjoy the fruits of that.
lol yep! Makes sense why I am nervous! Good for you both
I’m about where you are. I got a late start in my career and have some unexpected expenses and had to pay all my way way through school, etc.
40 and 120k
42, 3.7m network with .5m in home equity. Rest in mostly index funds, HCOL city, targeting 52-55 retirement depending on schools kids go to
Ditto hopefully no more than 56
Same as OP. Late start and not even near the other folks. Have about $700k in 401k and brokerage and $800k in home equity. Also have a property outside US for $700k fully paid. Am 47 now for reference.
Don’t despair. We have time to make up if we pull up our sock and save with a plan. I have adopted a minimalist lifestyle this year and henceforth. Only buy what I need not to please others. Good luck!
56. With spouse $11M nw. $1.3 is home equity. $.3 in rental property equity rest is stocks and other investments.
Ok, damn I feel poor lol… how? High earners = high savings = smart investments? Or frugal and smart investments? I just need about 10k to live during retirement as the house will be paid off.
Ish. Generally my best investment has been holding low cost index funds, but dropping $25k into NVDA a while ago didn't hurt.
44 ~2.5M with house and a retirement of around 75k a year
38 $1.3m about half in house
Wow! Are these numbers representative of individual or household net worth?
Its household
You guys are rich.
Both comments can be true tho :)
What are you going to do when the Federal Reserve Note dies? It’s coming very soon.
What about this makes you nervous?
My advice would be to not compare yourself to others, everyone’s journey and plan will be different as we all have unique needs. Work with your financial advisor on a good plan. As an example my salary has jumped a lot in just three years when I do one of those by this age calculations it’s off…
50s
400k retirement and cash accounts.
300k foreign condo
CRE with 2 business partners.
- 12M CRE assets, depending on property valuation.
- Working on increasing CRE income to 200k/yr, then 600k/yr targeting 1.2M/yr for retirement.
I'm 49 and we have a NW of 5.7M, 6.5M with the house, living in a HCOL area. Retiring after I finish off a couple obligations a couple years out.
49 and about 7M including about 700K equity on primary home.
