What should I expect during tech assistant interviews? What questions should I prepare for?

You should prepare for questions about your skills and experience, as well as questions about your knowledge of the veterinary field. You may also be asked situational questions, such as how you would handle a difficult situation in the workplace.

An interview for a vet tech assistant position may involve questions about your experience with animals, as well as your ability to handle medical procedures. You may also be asked about your knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Be prepared to answer questions about your ability to work under pressure and handle difficult tasks.

You must bear in mind that they are looking for a technical assistant, they will obviously ask you about your virtues and why you think you are good, but above all, prepare yourself for knowledge about animals and the difference in treatment between pets and other types of animals.

When I interview veterinary technicians I am very concerned about their love for animals, it is common for some animal friends to get a little upset during the exams, I ask what is the most extreme thing that has happened to them and how they managed to overcome it.

A good point is your friendship with animals, as veterinarians we know that not everyone has the ability to befriend an animal, my most important question would be "how many times have you had incidents with animals" and what have you done to solve them.

Outside of salary, what other things have people negotiated as new hire, I’ve seen more PTO, working from home, sign on bonus, even stock options? How have you negotiated these things especially if you are new to negotiating? Any books or references that gave you a great foundation. I’ve been on my job search from sometime now and getting more interviews, I’m willing to take a pay cut, but wonder what else I can ask for outside of more pay? Thanks

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Cold applied for an awesome role, had an interview with hiring manager, recruiter, and given a pretty hefty assignment that I’m really proud of nailing. They followed up with an email asking for 4-5 days that I am available for a full day of interviews. Gave them 4-5 days, started planning for how I’d get those days off work during insane times at current job, and now not a single word from them to confirm a date. Been over a week now. Sad. Pretty jaded. What can I do? Already followed up

So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.

Anyone else suffer from this?
