I have no direct ref in Chicago; in the twin cities, where i do have contacts, low 100k's would be normal... I may be wrong but I don't think comp pkgs in Chicago are very different from Minneapolis/saint Paul.

No, Google's first engineering office in Minnesota, it has been recently announced, will be instead in Rochester, to pursue Google's collaboration with the Mayo clinic. But I have non-google acquaintances in the twin cities, mostly because that's where my wife is from.

Depends of level… 4 YoE you might be on the lower end of L4 or high end of L3. L4 would be close to ~95-100k base, 15% bonus and maybe 100k equity vesting on 4 yrs.

confirmed i will be on the low end of L4

Hey! Can anyone assist with what can be claimed as workers comp? I was at work when I had my first episode of vertigo. Everything was spinning, wouldn't stop, and I couldn't stand or sit. I was freaking out and asked to be rushed to ER. Work paid for the ambulance. No physical injury. Insurance apparently didn't cover emergency charges. The out of pocket expense is about $2.5k and was wondering if I can claim this as workers comp. Again, no physical injury though.

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
