What skills do you find critical at your workplace? You’d think a strong background in science would be the most important but being able to communicate clearly and handle stress is far more important where I’m at

I've come around to the belief that being able to write coherently is akin to a superpower in modern business. If someone can express what they want, or what they expect, they've just got a huge advantage. I get emails all the time from people who may be smart in some particular way, and I have to read what they wrote a few times to understand what they're trying to tell me. I'm told people used to pride themselves on writing good business letters, that's definitely a lost art.

Coherent writing with complete sentence structure is very important. I see so many poorly written documents; some command written they are incomprehensible.

Absolutely
It’s very annoying mopping up after those problems lol

Its not so much skills as attitude. Most skills can be taught, but attitude can't. A person who pays attention to detail, works carefully, works hard, and keeps things positive even when it all hits the fan is worth their weight in gold.

I’m not saying you don’t need scientific background but communication is like 95% of my day

I couldn’t agree more. Clear communication is key.

The willingness and ability to take responsibility for yourself. It should be adulthood 101, but it's a trait that a shocking number of people seem to lack.

I agree it’s not middle school out here
If you screw up just say you messed up. We all just move on

What can you do if you’re getting interviewed by the same person who didn’t choose you in the first place?
Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Almost immediately, I was called for an interview, but with the same interviewer. What does this mean? Is this going to get awkward?

Can anyone give me their honest opinion on working at Eli Lilly, the Indy site? I have a few coworkers that have worked there in the past but no one recently. I’m currently being recruited pretty seriously for a in-vivo technician position in the auto-immune team, but I already have a job lined up at Envigo as a small animal sx tech. Salaries would be comparable (Lilly would most likely be a little more with bonuses), but if the culture sucks, I’d hate to burn a bridge with Envigo.
