I think a lawsuit is necessary and this is why. It's troubling that in healthcare, where our focus should be on patient care, some people prioritize personal agendas over professionalism. After nearly 30 years in this field, I've seen how these behaviors can lead to serious consequences, including job loss, which is unacceptable. HR and leadership need to take such issues seriously, as these actions can have significant negative impacts on both individuals and the organization. It’s unfortunate that it often takes the threat of legal action for some to realize the severity of these breaches. Those who engage in such conduct should reconsider their place in healthcare.. I right now have been jobless over 7 months and at risk of losing my apartment. Looking for another position and I still haven't found one because of a manger and HR for the same reason... It's not fair.
Was it only HR that knew you were complaining? Because that’s a major breach of trust and totally unprofessional on HR's part. Start by documenting everything—dates, conversations, and details. You could approach HR to express your concerns about confidentiality being broken.
Seek external advice. Protecting yourself is key.
HR is usually not on the employee side.
Wow I am so sorry that happened. I don't know that there is really anything that you can do in that situation OP. I don't know who you could even talk to about that because normally you would go to HR about those sorts of matters. I am sorry that happened.
