Best known for turnaround, yes, but our largest practice is actually management/operational consulting. During a recession, that group will still get called on to improve operations at companies that are losing margin but not facing bankruptcy. We also will train and deploy resources from other practices if the economy goes really south and we don’t have enough people in the restructuring group.
For instance, I am not in the restructuring group, but have worked on various bankruptcy matters during my tenure, including a lot after the great financial crisis.
To your specific question, I do think digital can help on a recession, especially for companies that have been slow to adapt and are facing financial issues exacerbated by lack of tech/digital sophistication.
