Depends on what your long term plans are. If you want to stay in PA, the CFA won't really help you.
The CFA is good if you're looking to break into equity research or something similar.
CFA is not a sure thing with job placement in finance. Deff need to consider long term goals and if the credential is aligned with helping you get there. Otherwise you're just wasting your time. If PA is long term goal, CFA provides little value unless you want to do TAS. If you wanna do finance, best bet is to go to top mba program in finance and make career change. Or, just network and down the road a firm takes a chance with you.
The CFA is very hard to do when you're not working with ppl also pursuing it. I have done L1, it's not too bad, probably the same as taking 2 CPA exams at once. L2 is VERY TOUGH.
Just relax
Had CMA before CPA, it seems that no one gives a crap about CMA, but i respect more than my CPA
Thank you all for the great advice! I am not very clear about my long term goal and you guys help me think. I think I need more time to work, experience and find which direction I would like to pursue in 5-10 years
Taking 2 CPA exams at once?! Shoot me in the face LOL
We have a director in our group that does controls work who has a CFA...make sure your getting the right exposure before the time investment. It’s not worth it if you stay in assurance
CMA not worth it if you have a CPA
