B4 Internal Audit - pays well since it's consulting/advisory ($90k in HCOL as a newly promoted first year Senior), GREAT work life balance (I never work more than 40 in non busy season, 45 in busy season), zero travel in my 3 years, fully WFH for the foreseeable future (at my firm at least), easy transfer from audit (pays much better too). Many folks in PA look down on internal audit work/projects for being boring (SOX, controls testing, risk assessments, etc), but we don't work past 5/6pm and get paid very well all the same. I've actually just recently helped a couple of folks change from audit/tax to IA in my own firm, DM me if you have any questions!

No idea who these people are saying accounting advisory is 40 hour weeks. I don’t know anyone at PwC working those hours in the last two years. That was true pre covid but we’ve been swamped for a year and a half
If you are TAAG in FAAS maybe. General FAAS will work more hours (e.g., deals or messy transformations).

Technical accounting advisory. We were remote prior to covid, and our busiest time is Jan-March which is about 50 hrs on avg. 40-45 other than that. Dm if interested. You'd come in as a senior

Agree with technical accounting. In AAS myself, haven’t worked more than 40 hours in the past year, haven’t traveled, and been on very interesting projects. DM if you have any questions

FDD in the middle market. I'm almost always offline by 630 / 7. Message me for referral. Also been 100% remote since before the pandemic.
Are you currently in Crowe or different firm?
I work in AAS. I have not worked past 50 hours and I’m on a IPO project. Even my coworkers work about the same or less.
I had 2 years 3 months experience in audit at PwC and transferred over to AAS as an S1 for 30% comp increase to $95K
Generally no advisory group can guarantee you good pay, decent WLB, min travel, full WFH given it’s still client service. If you go with a smaller firm you have a better chance to achieving these but you do get less brand recognition. Also as you climb the ranks you are generally expected to be more flexible to client needs, so while you may get what you want earlier on it’s not guaranteed to last over time.
I’m in FDD at a regional firm and I have all that. Dm me if interested
Which firm if you dont mind me asking?
Federal
I’ve heard federal is great but different. I don’t really want my CPA license to go to waste after all that effort
I wonder how much is a good pay now days, can someone please give me an idea? I am new here.
I’d say in HCOL advisory should be 105 for an S1 nowadays if not more. Which granted isn’t great pay still but pwc is upping their game with the deal practice all around 115 for S1 so others may follow
I'm in Federal and I use my CPA. It's typically a requirement for certain audit remediation support... providing solutions to the auditor findings is very rewarding work, very good pay, and good work life balance!
