Are you talking about the basic sapphire or the reserve/preferred?
It’s only an additional $55/yr and has much better earn potential
What are your parameters? Are you specifically targeting no-fee cards? Cash back or points? Are you only looking at Chase? Are you just starting to build credit? Happy to help but we need a bit more information if you don’t mind.
So by take out money I hope you mean to just use the credit and not a cash advance. I’d suggest opening the Sapphire Preferred then. It has a minimum credit limit of 5k which is hopefully enough for you. It does have a $95 annual fee but that won’t hit until your first statement. Plus, if you indeed do need to pay off more than 4k, the 60k points from the sign on bonus can be converted to $600 cash to cover your annual fee and in the worst case interest.
When the year comes around, just downgrade to the Freedom or Freedom Unlimited to avoid paying the annual fee. Hope that helps.
