McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Gather around kids..let me tell you about the time Modernista! gave me a $32,000 bonus when I was making $40,000...and then gave away briefcases of more cash at the holiday party.
Wtf I didn’t get a bonus that big when I was there.
Pro
Having a job would be a bonus rn
Except with WFH and strung out CFOs, the rules of engagement for being employed have changed. And not in the favor of employees.

A bonus right now is having a job.

An odd look from your boss as you log off Zoom at 6pm
“Due to COVID-19 there will be no holiday parties and we are putting those dollars towards exec bonuses thanks”
Uh does the $25 Amazon gift card your boss gives you count? Only “bonus” I’ve gotten in this industry—and was grateful for it!
Good ol pat on the FAHKIN back mate - maybe an email from your higher ups saying Well done! and some fuckin KUDOS
What more do you want? Money? Get outta here
LOL. Better make a dash for the C-Suite if you want/expect a “bonus”. The industry and holding companies don’t care about you.

In what industry? Advertising?
Yep, advertising. This is the advertising 🐠 bowl.
*insert GIF of that little kid laughing, then crying*
Never got a bonus in 28 years in this industry.
😳
Elusive
At a small agency of 35 ppl, I got a bonus of 4%. Current agency is 100ish, and bonus the last three years was 10%, but that is really uncommonly high I think.
Curious: 4% of what? Of agency net or gross? Of your salary? Of billings for the Accts you work on? Of something else?
Bo...nus? I’m unsure how to pronounces this word
The last small company I worked at, the C suites made a big deal calling us in a room individually and gave each staff member an envelope... We had an incredible year so I was all excited that it might be a good amount. Boy was I wrong! The envelope had a holiday card (in thick card stock too so it made the envelope heavy and full of hope) with all the c suites signatures on it.
Did you sign the back and give it back to them? With a "holiday message"?
We once got a $10 grocery gift card from our VP who then flew to Hawaii with his bonus.

What’s a bonus 😭
I’m at a small agency and ours are around 8-15% depending on seniority... feeling grateful seeing all these responses :/
Same. Definitely feeling grateful as well. We weren’t expecting to get bonuses this year and they just announced them recently. It came as a shock, but also made me happy to hear were clearly doing well enough as an agency to continue with bonuses. Made me curious about other agencies and their bonus policies during COVID and before.
