What’s it like working at the PCAOB? Any former big 4 auditors there want to compare the experience?

you can’t beat the work/life balance that you get there, not long hours, and if you up for travel you can get that as well. Slow periods are slow and can be hard to find stuff to fill your time which can also be nice, but plenty of folks that have left and gone there from the big four and liked it, all depends on what you looking for, just know career progress is slower and the nature of the work is repetitive as you primarily are just reviewing teams work as an inspector. But lots of ppl make them out to be scary ppl, they aren’t, they are some but for the most part lots of good people over there.

Usually on par with what you make when you start with an increase potentially depending on your current salary, but going forward it’s nothing too crazy 3-5% but the also do a crazy 401k match, lots of PTO and all federal holidays so there is additional benefits not directly tied to comp

Go to LinkedIn. Add those people. Ask for coffee chat online. I did. She liked it said it’s very technical a bit dry.

Also curious about this

Maybe good if you hate auditors. Personally I would wait to know who the new chair will be. Current chair is toxic.

I have been offered a position at a non-US B4 with a 2 year path to partner. I know one of the partners at the local firm and have the support of the regional service line lead, and am bringing a specialized skill set they are trying to open a new business around. The KPIs seem achievable and I’ll be in charm school to help build support within that timeline. Most of me thinks a 2 year path under these circumstances realistic but my inner skeptic is jaded.
