Typically Europe dresses way nicer than we do in every sense…I would dress up

This can go hilariously wrong, tbh. Americans dressing up can look a bit like a clown show to us
Typically yes but post covid is a bit more casual. Like everyone in our office wears a dress shirt, jacket, slacks/jeans, and brand new white sneakers.
I’m in Germany but work across Western Europe.
Think Zara. Slim or regular fit and contemporary.

Shirt and chinos (slacks and a button down) is fine. The big difference is that American clothes makers have no idea what shape humans are whereas European clothes actually fit well. So don’t wear one of those mega baggy shirts tucked into pleated slacks that were designed using only right-angles.
Dark brown or black leather lace up shoes also recommended.
Brooks Brothers or Charles Tyrwhitt should sort you out with everything you need. No harm in bringing a suit if you are
more comfortable. Suit no tie is still common although less so. Dark blue suit or dark grey. Not black.
Actually, the baggy trend has made it to Europe as well. It’s horrible with women’s clothes now.
Be skinny and fit

Nonsense
Depends on the city. Paris vs. Berlin is very different

Couldn’t agree more that that’s underdressed
Depends on your industry but yes (I am EU) they have a different style. Air on the side of a more conservative dress too. High heels and mini skirts might not be a good idea

Tuxedo is the only answer

My advice would be: wear professional, conservative, clean clothes that fit you. They’re gonna be able to tell you’re American, so you’re not fooling anyone either way
-No jeans or denim of any kind
-No polos (unless lax environ)
-No hooded sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters
>Leather lace-up shoes (such as Oxfords)
>Slacks or dress pants
>A button up
>Quiet/muted colors and only super subtle style details
Remember, the point is not to be stylish, it’s to show that you’re making an effort to fit in
