What's up with getting hired at Coinbase? I've had an account and been investing since 2016, am active in the crypto community and knowledgeable, and I have more experience than needed. I even applied to more junior roles and got denials after a few days (same job titles and domains). Do they not like people from certain backgrounds (professionally) or something? Should I just edit my resume to be totally vague about everything and pretend I've been spending all my time on crypto? What gives?

I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?
