Bain & Company Hi there! I'm looking to connect, and hopefully receive a referral for the Bain Associate Consultant Intern program in a SEA office. Happy to connect further, perhaps jump into a short call, for you to learn more about me and determine whether I'm a good fit. Thank you and really appreciate it! Bain & Company

I can’t say for sure about your situation but I kept calling this poor sweet woman Alexa when her name was Alex for months before I started saying it correctly and what’s worse is I apologized many times only to continue saying it incorrectly 🤦🏽♂️
Shame on you!! Jk, but that’s bad but innocent since you didn’t mean any harm. My coworker would look at my name plate and mispronounce it and say, can I just call you E…
After my boss quit (we were an internal analytics team of 2), I did his and my job for 6 months without missing a beat and with great feedback from the entire organization. When I asked to be considered for his open role I was told that I was too ugly for leadership positions. They then hired a new boss for me with no relevant experience who then spent all of her time telling me I should never send emails directly to anyone but her, which she would then pass along to the org for credit without changing even a comma. I quit as fast as I could (at which point the org offered to double my salary to get me to stay). Lack of “pretty privilege” has been rough to say the least and I’ve seen how one shitty boss can have a lasting impact on earnings, not to mention feelings of self worth
Just wow, so crazy. Not surprised and he probably will never be punished
Mine was I had a boss that was so incompetent she wasn’t able to tell her boss what we did day to day and whether or not we were doing a good job, and it cost us getting our full bonus amount at the eoy review.
myself and 2 other people ended up leaving that position within a few months of each other and we all put on our exit interview that she was the reason. She was asked to resign after the 3rd person quit
A horrible experience, but sweet justice at the end
It truly blows my mind how some people end up in the positions they’re in with such a lack of knowledge, technical skills or leadership experience
I have endless oilfield stories, but this is probably the worst...
There was someone who transferred from a different region that I was assigned to train. I made a nice list of all the things I knew were different, so he had something to reference. Which is VERY hard to do when you're on a fast stage frac- IYKYK.
After he read it, he crumpled it up, ate the paper, and then threw the notebook at me. ⚠️
His reaction to my help stemmed from both him thinking I was trying to sabotage him (almost reasonable because every other region did everything the same - ours was the odd one out) and he really hated having women in the oilfield (not an assumption, he said it all the time).
It still hurts me to this day - that it ever happened and that my boss thought I just wasn't assertive enough. I tried so hard to help the guy, and I still got in trouble because he refused to do it our way and it looked like I never even tried to train him. What are you supposed to do when someone flat out refuses to listen to a word you say??
Yeah that's so fkn true. Ugh
With my oast experience we had names for each BA in the department of supply chain. Though we used to call when no is around. But then it became habit for us all and we would say it in meetings to. We never did it intentionally but we created this environment among us and enjoyed it
This is a hard toss up between the 2 separate times I ended up with managers who didn’t know what I did every day nor did either of them care enough to learn..
Ugh… that’s awful. Been there too
