You’d want to know the typical (ie median, and varied by tiers of performance) sales comp and related performance output to get there. The 85% might be incredibly misleading or very obtainable—you need to assess and estimate what you could deliver in a potentially brutal economic environment
The new op salary should be the base comp plus avg expected bonus
What are your career goals? You typically know something is a good exit when it is well aligned with your goals (both now and setting you up for later success) and the comp is good too. Going off track from your goals might be worth it for a big enough paycheck, but consider the downstream impacts and risks.
Sales jobs often boast of high pay due to high commissions, but frankly, very few people get those big payouts. You, as a newbie to the space, should assume you'll struggle year 1, be decent year 2, and then finally have a decent shot at the big money in year 3. And that assumes you want to do sales enough to persist through the constant rejections, lost deals and layoff risk.
Be sure to ask how the commission payments work, like if they're at sale vs when revenue is collected, if they're lump sum or spread out over time.
Depends, what company if u don’t mind?
Base should be equal to your current salary... bonus/TC then is icing on the cake.
