When you do NOT want to be disturbed.
When I don't want certain people to message me
Napping
When one person annoys me #triggered
Usually when I arrive in the morning
Working through complicated problems where interruptions will throw off my process
BT1 I can relate to that. For me it is someone (1 level above me) enjoys micromanaging me the whole time for small things and “busy” is not severe enough to stop that.
Screen sharing and when I need to be super focused on a task with an approaching deadline
Just turn off Skype, maybe? I think DND is so obnoxious. Why not just sign out?
I think there's a way to tag certain contacts where they'll see "urgent interruptions only" while everyone else will see "do not disturb". This works well in case you need your team members to have access to you but not everyone on the contact list
When I’m presenting on my computer and don’t want everyone to see what IMs and emails I get. Or in training when I’m trying to not get distracted by work
I only use it when presenting/sharing my screen. I’d also be curious to know when you use Busy. I think some people default to busy all the time. But aren’t we all?
When I'm in a client meeting and don't want to worry about a pop up ping that a client may see.
Plenty of instances where you may need to be pinging a certain person but don't want to receive pings from randos. Hence DND.
TM1, I do notice people bother me less when I put busy. As I stuff, when my status shows as available, I usually get a lot of assignments like help scanning documents, clearing someone else comments etc when I am already swamped and need to stay pass midnight to meet certain deadlines
Ey4 why is dnd obnoxious?
Only when presenting. Otherwise I have literally never used it.
When I'm in a firedill.
