Pretty sure it's two years. So when you hit senior level
Anything you put in a 401(k) is vested immediately because it's money straight from your paycheck. EY starts matching your contributions after a year of service, and increases the match after 4 years of service. The firm match vests immediately. We got an email about this yesterday.
Vesting in the pension would be deferred until manager, maybe a year or two after your promotion since you don't have the 2 years as a staff going towards your vesting period. If you leave before vesting in the pension plan you won't receive benefits upon retirement. Conversely, you are always 100% vested in your 401(k). Regardless of when you leave you will always have that. Your future employer would likely allow you to roll your EY 401(k) into their plan.
I thought it was immediate. Pretty sure you can find this on mypeoplelink
Depends when you start. They keep changing the time it vests after.
It's changed from 1 to 3 years since I've been at EY.
The pension plan used to vest when you hit senior, but was recently changed to vest at manager. Is that what you're really asking about?
If hired as a senior, the vesting will be deferred till I hit manager? Probably in 2 yrs? What if I leave the firm beforehand?
After 5 yrs
Wth? Are we talking pension or 401k?
Actually 401k. But you are welcome to include pension if you have points.
Well 5 years is pension. That is why I was asking. It doesn't take 5 years to vest in the employer contributions of the 401k.
