[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Nowadays it seems like people just bring their affairs to work and destroy the good vibes of others. Lots of sadists and vibe killers
I worked with this man who was a senior, not my supervisor but we were on the same team and we'll handle projects together. He'd ask me "what have you been doing all day", and I saw that as micromanaging and that wasn't even his role to ask me such. Our boss said that's how he is bcs he feels intimidated by the fact that his wife earns more than him. He'll always try to spoil the fun unless he's actually leading the fun. If it's anyone else, he'll withdraw early or make unnecessary comments. So just do you and don't stress yourself
Im a people pleaser and a workaholic. Being told to do less is so hard for me. It feels like im being told not to care. Its just not Computing lol
Same thing is happening at my place. The big boss left, now there’s no buffer and we are treated by his boss the way he was treated. Now I see why he left. Anyways. Now the vibe is totally different; I’m looking around for a better place and trying to lay low. I’m hoping the big bosses replacement is hired soon and will course correct this culture shi(f)t. Hope they hire one to lead your team too, and get things back to a more positive culture.
Hoping the same. Its definitely been a huge adjustment and starting to become one of the "quiet quit because of management"
I wouldn't unless you've got some reason to believe said boss will go back to being hands-off again. If that happens, maybe things will go back to the way they were before. I wouldn't bank on it though, and I wouldn't want to wait around for it to when you've already been there 2+ years already.
I worked at a company where similar things happened, a lot of personnel churned and within months things went from pleasant to horrendous. It made me start looking elsewhere. It taught me that people come and go, and things can really change when they do.
