Alas, I don't qualify.

If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.

Keep it to yourself
When HR asked me why I was quitting my last job I told them it was because I didn’t like the selection in the snack machine. The look in her face was priceless
I ripped my last exit interview a new one for its sexist culture. Guess i burned that bridge but I dont regret a thing 🤷🏻♀️
Depends on your relationship with your boss
Don’t burn bridges but if you have a good relationship with your boss and your reasons for leaving aren’t going to piss them off they’d probably appreciate hearing or.
Keep it to yourself. HR’s exit interviews are bs. Nothing you say will change the culture. If you want to have fun though, ghost HR and then leave
Don't. Burn. Bridges.
Keep it to yourself esp. don't say to HR during an exit interview.
You're free, enjoy your freeeeeeeedom (if you are quitting)
Like everyone has said - do not burn bridges. But if you can share your reasons in a constructive way (particularly if they are things others struggle with or are easy to address) your boss may appreciate the feedback - but really think through what you would share. HR exits are very dependent on place - some places they were valuable, others bogus. I’d assume they will be bogus - so share little
HR doesn’t give a shit why you left. Especially if it’s negative about the company. They’re the drooling audience members of Apple’s “1984” spot. Watching the big screen to learn what they should say and think.
They will most likely ask and sometimes it’s more awkward to give the “I’d rather not say” response, so I suggest having a PC/vague answer for your boss (better opportunity, better hours, an offer you couldn’t turn down) and then you can give the real dirt to HR if you feel the need during your exit interview
I don't want to burn the bridge but honestly a lot of the issues are very obvious, so it might not be my place to call them out, but I wanted to know whether I should give a real reason or not. Thanks all!
If there is someone you despise that’s the time to name names - if they’re awful, you won’t be alone and it does make a difference
I know someone who flamed his CD in his “confidential” exit interview, then came back looking for a job when the new one didn’t work out. Pretty sure the CD enjoyed delivering that negatory fairly richly.
your boss will see the exit interview
If you’re quitting, the time for that conversation has long gone.
Neither. Make something up that allows you to come back and burns no bridges. Nothing to be gained from telling the truth
