CSR
Such a vague question. Anyone who is even mildly into this knows there's a card for almost everything. You should maximize your return on your biggest spending categories. No one card is good for everything. CSR is only GOOD for a couple categories of spending AND if you plan to redeem for more travel.
On top of that, you need to decide if you want cash back or miles/points. Miles/points are more valuable and easier to get but are pretty much redeemed for travel or else cash back is just as good.
Here's mine for cash back
Groceries, gas = blue cash preferred
Restaurants: Uber (embarrassing but best cash back at 4%)
Internet/tv/cell: chase ink
Rotating: Freedom
Marriott/spg hotels: chase Marriott
Everything else: USAA Limitless (2.5% on everything)
Amex black
CSR
CSR
3 no annual fee cards for the perfect trifecta:
Amazon: 5% Whole Foods and amazon
Uber: 4% restaurants, 3% travel
Double Cash: 2% everything
Chase Sapphire Reserve aka CSR
I love the benefits that come with the amex platinum! But CSR for points.
Use nerdwallet to decide
I will say the customer service on Amex is worth some consideration.
You're not allowed to use a personal at IBM though, so a lot of the CSR benefits would be negated out
OP, you named a bottom tier, mid tier, and premium tier card. Can you really compare paying $550 for a card with amazing benefits vs $195 for a card with amazing rewards vs $0 for cashback?
You should determine what you want out of your card and what it’s worth to you. Do you live in a Delta hub and travel a lot (including personal?) Amex plat will give you lounge access and amazing travel benefits. Are your biggest personal expenses food/gas? The premier rewards gold card gives you 2X points on gas, groceries, and restaurants which is amazing for rewards earning. Do you not need perks and just want cashback?
Point is it’s entirely tailored to you and you should do your research
Hands down CSR
