That should not even be a question

I grew up in Dallas and would choose San Diego and it’s not even close.
I’m from Dallas. I don’t live there anymore…
Pro
I live in San Diego. It’s as close to paradise as you can get in the lower 48
Chief
San Diego because Texas.
People still want to live in Texas 🤔 ?
San Diego hands down. Diversity and general atmosphere
Dallas is one of the most diverse cities in the country.
San Diego duh

Two reasons to choose Dallas - cost of living and the San Diego hellpit of an airport. And the Cowboys.
Chief
What’s wrong with the San Diego airport? Was pretty normal.
I like Dallas because it’s affordable. All things equal though San Diego is way better than Dallas. But do you want to pay 30-40k in taxes and extra living expenses at a minimum to live there. That’s a new car every year just to be in San Diego where you will spend 60 hours a week inside working anyways,

I make a lot more here than I would in Texas and I work like 20 hours a week so…
Do you like having control of your own reproductive organs?

San Diego and anyone who says Dallas is suspect.

NTX if you prioritize financial responsibility over all else. It’s a fine place to “settle” for, in the interest of stashing acorns, to periodically go and visit nicer places.
SAN otherwise. Spent a long time there on engagements and it’s simply sublime.

I loved living in SD, but ultimately moved away because it was just too expensive.
Live in Dallas and would move to SD any day of the week all else equal. Unfortunately not all is equal including housing costs and taxes.
Spent most of my life in Dallas and my answer is San Diego
SD if you are paid fairly.
Apts/houses are very expensive and not as spacious as TX. COL, gas prices and everything else will be an order of magnitude more expensive.
But in return you get perfect weather, great food, tonnes of things to do. If you are single dating scene is pretty nice too.
One thing to note though is that the airport is kind of a hit or miss. Direct flights to smaller airports are tough and terminal 1 is pretty much the worst exp you’ll ever have. Terminal 2 is quite nice.
SD
Are you kidding me with that question?
