Sometimes they haven't received enough applicants (yes some banks want to interview a minimum of people)
Government does this
Most organizations have a policy in place that states that requisitions can only stay open for so long. If they reach the end of the defined timeline, they close it, and reopen it if they want to receive applications still.
I've closed a position after the candidate accepted the offer and passed the background check. They didn't show up the first day and ghosted us, so I had to reopen it.
Sometimes they want to make some minor change, and the system requires closing it first and reposting. (No sneaky editing of the original allowed.) Sometimes they originally wanted it listed for X days, but X days passed, and they don't have a butt in the seat yet, so they repost.
The “ sneaky editing” does exist. My colleague would like to know whether this is legal.
Sometimes they’re just fishing for candidates, not an actual need. They post to keep the position open.
Hi
Hai
I think indeed charges them per applicant or something like that. They might pause to interview a few potentials and stop a lot of traffic and then start again.
