Why do recruiters send messages via LinkedIn asking if you’d be interested for a lower level position if it’s clear on there that you’re higher level (I.e. asking if you’re interested in a manager role even though you’re SM)? I don’t understand why they think anyone would respond.

Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.
