never apply without referral unless your resume is line by line the job description
This is basically the cheat code that you need to know. Whenever cold applying, you should always tailor your resume to the job description.
It runs on a schedule. This is a challenge especially with global companies!
Also, Workday has built-in auto dispositions. Depending on how it is used (different with each company), your application may not even get to a recruiter or hiring manager. The screening questionnaire is the most common place where candidates get kicked out. It’s important to answer those questions in alignment with the posting! Tailoring your resume to the requisition is also a must. Referrals aren’t as important as you may think. It just raises a flag, that’s all!
I am hiring for a role right now. Several hundred resumes came in on the website and LinkedIn. I can interview maybe 15 to 20 in the first round, so already down to 5-10%. The recruiter does initial screening, and several of those 15 slots are referrals from my team or other people I know well here, so that 15 becomes six. Not trying to discourage you, just help you understand the volume and how we need to use the system to screen people out because we can’t go through all those resumes on our own. The recruiters have many other roles, and I have a day job. Ideally you’ll not just find a random referral (all that means is that the recruiter will look at your resume - but it’s still one of a couple hundred they read) but actually a person on the team you are interested in.
It is understandable SF1. Appreciate the insights. The best way is to get referral from someone one the team or get the resume to HM
