Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

If it's for the same salary I'd stay where I am. I'm sure at some point I'll get bored or fed up or whatever, and I'll be eager to do something new. But for now, unless there's some real benefit to it, I'd just as soon stay put. Like a lot of people, I'm just grateful to be hanging on to the job I've got.
True it is nice to have job security
Assuming salary isn’t terrible, I’d stay put right now. I’m not opposed to making changes when needed, but it has to be for a really good reason for me to start new somewhere.
Yea a lot of people stay put

I’ve hit two young kids I’m just hanging around
Still hoping for a promotion but kind of staying in the middle of the pack on purpose
Oh with kids I would stay put too!
This is a question that many have at different stages of their careers. I value stability and security. I can imagine if you are early in your career, with a family to support the ROI for moving to new positions for more compensation makes sense. But, for those who are at a state where they want to work, the compensation allows them to do what they enjoy and pay the bills, the answer is stay. And for everyone in this current economy the answer in 2025/2026 might be to STAY. You are trading your time and hours to do good work, so you can be compensated to live your life fully outside of work hours. Everyone does not aspire to be the CEO, CFO, VP or Regional Manager, Director, etc. But, in some situations you may feel forced to aspire to more. When you want to be the best contributor in your role and function.
At 58 years, I’ll stay where I am.
Just to maybe add to the convo... What if you were in a toxic work place environment (not really affecting your work per se) but mentally you are in the middle of the chaos. You see the politics and the crazy situations and see the culture slowly declining with all the lay offs and your team leaving...
- Things to consider, family with 3 kids but a supportive partner and could possibly afford the cut in pay for a little.
Would you stay for the salary or leave for mental stability and a renewed outlook?
