We’re definitely on our last legs as a nation. People want to ignore it but it will affect everyone at some point

That’s exactly the problem. Taco is creating so much chaos and economic flux. Biden handed down the best economy globally, post pandemic. 47 purposefully ruining it bc he is not financially literate- everyone who knows him says this. I mean he’s been bankrupt how many times. He’s also a felon 34x for fraud and corruption, and is liable for rape by a jury of his peers. And every country is laughing at us. Good times
There is no reason in this society that we shouldn’t have universal healthcare. If you really research it, we would all save $ in the end. We’re already subsidizing those who can’t afford it with our premium costs. If the insurance companies didn’t have so much power, we would all be better off and healthier.
It's all about the insurance companies as well. They make most of the decisions now instead of you and your doctor.
So… I was laid-off and because of that I lost my Medicaid, which was a Ticket to Work type program in my state, due to my disability despite having ability to be minimally employed. My unemployment counts against me (as if I won it like a lottery or a lawsuit settlement) so it disqualifies me for needy-based Medicaid as well.
We have a Medicaid Program here in Michigan called Medicaid Expansion Program and it's for low-income residents. Our Governor, before our current Governor, signed a bill and it passed.
Ok. Thank you
If you're not scamming Medicaid or Social Security, then your benefits won't be cut. You're half being dramatic and half onto something though.
There have always been layoffs, and there have always been people who had trouble finding jobs. Unemployment and the labor participation rate aren't bad. When people talk about not being able to find a job, sometimes, you have to dig into that a little. Can they REALLY not find a job, or can they not find the job that they want because there are plenty of jobs being filled. Anyone who's employed can see new hires showing up.
On the other hand, things are becoming very expensive in the big cities, so it's getting to a point where anyone who's not making above average money or splitting the cost with someone else has to live on the outskirts, live in the less desirable parts of town or leave the city. I'm not sure how to deal with this. I don't think that pumping more government welfare into the system will work, but we'll see what happens if that communist in New York City becomes their Mayor. I think that a big part of the issue is that it's become so easy to invest in real estate that so many people are doing it and driving up the prices. They're buying, second, third and fourth properties to rent them out, and that's driving up the prices for everyone else to just buy one house to live in, and those high purchase prices lead to high rent prices.
Did you save any money while you were employed? Did you sign up for COBRA continuation coverage after you left your job? That usually gives you the ability to pay for 6-18 months of the same coverage that you had at your job, but you must have money saved to pay the premiums. Did you try signing up for a private/marketplace plan? Again, you need money saved to pay the premiums.

We’re talking about Medicaid, and there are more people who are on Medicaid that have a job than those who are “able-bodied”.
Most of the Addiction Counseling jobs I get offered have NO benefits. With Medicaid cuts the patients will have less access to care as well. So no need for me.

Looking back, God has been trying to show me this in several personal and professional relationships in the past 6 months, probably longer. Maybe, I just hadn’t experienced enough emotional pain to see it Today, I see it, and it’s coming in loud and clear! 👓
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is essential for personal and professional relationships, with perspective taking being a crucial aspect. Without social emotional learning, the relationship will not grow, flourish or develop. In my experiences, the relationship comes to a halting end, ubruptly.
Perspective taking allows for effective communication, empathy, and building meaningful connections by understanding others’ thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Without perspective taking one sees, hears and belives whatever they understand and choose to believe as truth. I can’t change what others think or believe about me, because it’s their own “truth”, perception, belief, and reality. Even if it isn’t an “absolute truth”.
Without effective communication, empathy, and building meaningful connections by understanding others’ thoughts, feelings, and experiences there can not be any real understanding.
Developing perspective taking skills enhances communication, conflict resolution, empathy, relationships, self-awareness, and personal growth. Strategies to developing perspective taking include active listening, asking open-ended questions, having an unbias attitude, seeking diverse perspectives, and reflecting on personal experiences.
Incorporating perspective taking in everyday life improves personal relationships and professional settings.
It is imperative to overcome challenges in perspective taking and this involves recognizing and addressing cognitive biases, emotional barriers, and building resilience and adaptability.
Takeaway: Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is perspective taking, which allows us to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Without perspective taking, there is error in judgements based on ones own experiences and there can be no true understanding. Instead, choose what’s consider and whats not, of others situations and conclude on the false belief about others.
In my own experience, if others don’t understand perspective taking, the relationship can not THRIVE.

This isn’t about personal relationships. Perspectives’s are always skewed and distorted if if you’re perspective is based off of mistruth’s/ propaganda/, and lies. If you’ve ever initiated conflict resolution for kids is MS/HS you’d know that you have to start out with the facts.

OP: you’re right, it is a generalization for all sort of “x studies”, which includes gender studies, African American Studies, Fine Arts. Liberal arts, social sciences, and a whole bunch of other degrees which are entirely useless in a marketplace.
There is an oversaturation in CS majors, no doubt about it… but, it’s not exactly a surprise: during Covid, we closed borders, nearly stopped processing employment visas, and once H1B and other types of employment visas started expiring, tens of thousands of foreign nationals working in US had to leave. So companies started scrambling and hiring anyone they could get their hands on between 2021-2022. In 2023 borders opened fully once again, and it pretty much crashed the demand for local talent.
As far as AI, IMHO it’s a ruse, as I work in the field so I feel I’m a bit more in the know than most people on the thread, at least if we judge by titles. I could be wrong though, so who knows.
Medicaid is a federally sponsored program, for which we, tax payers, are paying. The original goal was to help those who could attain work due to eligible reasons. Unfortunately, it’s blown out of proportion, and needs to be reined in.

OP: for better or worse, we live in a market economy. And jobs are there because there is a need/demand and supply. Should or shouldn’t is a matter for debate, let alone how useful those degrees are. I could care less whether a degree is useless or not: the market deems it so, so they are a waste by definition from a market prospective. Now, if say a wealthy family has kids who CHOOSE to do something that bears no monetary prospective, and they still choose to pursue it, by all means, but it’s absolutely stupid to allow for loans or grants to be issued for something that will not yield assurance of job prospects to those who will rely on that income to survive.
Absolutely agree with you as far as market changes and current over-saturation. Also agree that neuroscience is a valid research field, but if the PhD is going to put you in debt of 400K+, and the income will not exceed 85K, it is financially irresponsible to pursue at full cost. Again, market rules. If there won’t be enough people in neuroscience, guess what, the salaries will go through the roof and equilibrium will be achieved.
Insurance is expensive due to multiple factors, but most of it comes down to high costs to address chronic diseases stemming from poor diet and little exercise. Think about it: half of the population in US is obese - not overweight, but actually obese. In comparison, in France, it’s 17%. In Germany is at 20%. Japan is less than 5% !!! No matter how much money you throw at this, the problem won’t go away unless you take away incentive to continue eating junk and filling your calcify your arteries with fat.

PE2- Dude, you seem very very confused. A person who is eligible for Medicaid gets health insurance, called Medicaid. There is no money changing hands, no check or money, health insurance only.
Furthermore, we don’t have all these unlimited resources for the elderly. I mean Medicaid is often used in conjunction with Medicare. Medicaid is the supplemental insurance, similar to private insurance /NOT CASH! Programs like Meals on Wheels, low-income home energy assistance, prescription drug assistance, low income housing- all gutted and no longer exist. There’s really very little left. This White House even eliminated Adult Protective Services
Women popping out babies is an offensive way to talk about women and again, they do not get thousands of dollars from anyone. You are ill informed, and don’t tell me you know mothers who have gotten money, bc it’s just not true
You need to learn about the social safety networks in America bc you’re basically wrong on every point
You know how bad it is 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏿♀️
Hello, Michigan High School Teacher 1
What about the people we allow to come into the country and they aren't held to the same health requirements as American children. What about immunization records, how do you get someone else medical records from a war inflicted country? In some of these countries where people are coming to the United States, they do not even take certain immunizations because of their religion.
Chief
EF - kids in America are being opted out of vaccines. Maybe we should start there, oh yeah…this White House honestly does not care about us. They put a bonafide weirdo in charge of our nations health and welfare. It’s just gonna get worse
Unless people are working, government has no access to tax revenue. Tax revenue pays for Medicare, Medicaid and all the other government programs. I'd prefer people work to support themselves, but finding and keeping a job is a challenge right now. Very concerning times for sure.
Chief
Like govt subsidies to farmers and other big businesses? Subsidies take more out of our tax dollars than Medicaid and Medicare and snap benefits all together.
Chief
Yes, dramatic. there are a bunch of other options out there for people who don't have employer-sponsored healthcare (which includes me) or between jobs. And the people being kicked off 'Medicaid' are mainly those who shouldn't have been on the system, so why were we paying for it?

It's really tough to get a great job if you don't have a really good amount of experience with a recent background with a particular skill set and your resume doesn't catch a companies attention and I think even you do, so it's not your imagination, but yet you just have to keep trying and applying and hope and pray for the best outcome. It ain't easy my friend, but thats just how it Is out there when you're trying to get a new or better job. It's hard and and rough and that's exactly what you have to be to survive and succeed in this world, but at the same time you want to think positive, act positive, be positive, and don't lose your perspective on the lighter, happier, relaxing, enjoyable things in life. It's a balancing act. May you find your best path and good luck ! Stay centered and maybe good Karma and may the Lord of the universe step in and provide divine intervention ! Don't give up and you can pull through and even win. All these things are possible, but you gotta be willing to just keep on applying yourself to achieve your goals and make your dreams become a reality even if it takes a lifetime and in reality it may take a lifetime, but I hope you build upon small wins and joys and love and happiness and success along the way ❤️ 😊 and find peace, contentment and satisfaction along the way as well. Love, T
