Anyone know of any firms looking to hire CFP’s? Currently in a bank program and they recently switched everybody to salary plus bonus, both relatively low. Last bank program they laid all the advisors off and sold the business along with our books to another firm. I’m Interested in salaried Financial Planning opportunities or willing to buy a retiring Advisor’s book of business. I’m a CFP with over a decade experience in Wealth Management. I’m also completing my MBA soon as well. Thanks.

Got an offer to work on a team at Morgan Stanley. 2 other advisors, $300m aum, mostly free based, financial planning practice. I’m a CFP at Edward Jones. Sounds like the ideal practice to be working on. Pros and cons of Morgan Stanley? How is their comp structure? What’s a typical fee based % rate?

Small but growing firm. Two independent advisors and an office director. We are actively hiring for a marketing and events director. Curious on how others compensate this type of role and what type of bonus structure are successful? We do a mix of aum and annuities primarily.

Was previously working as an advisor growing a nice book and left to move 18hrs away to be close to family. I was pregnant and desperate to take what would move us and now I’m a planner working for FAs and I’m making $130k. Was fine at first while I got thru pregnancy but now I’m not happy & regret accepting the job and pay. I’m supporting others who are making 3-4times my salary. I have 10 yrs experience and CFP, often more than FAs I’m helping. Ask for more $$ or start over being an FA?

What is salary for a financial advisor at TD bank in Toronto?

I interviewed for an employed role and knocked my business plan pitch out the park, but could tell I disappointed them with my technical. By my own admission I’m lacking in this area as only have 1.5 years experience with a poor manager who only had me focus on biz dev.

They asked me what my salary expectations are but had already hinted my experience would knock me down a pay grade.

As it was 4 of them and 1 of me I said I would email them. How do I play this without lowballing myself?

What's the most effective way for a small RIA to recruit FAs who have a few years experience, want to break away from large/corporate firms? I'm a $70M fee-only (commissions for insurance) independent RIA with a generous comp schedule that enables FAs to own their own book while they grow. As the owner, my focus is to help FAs succeed; as a firm, our focus is on client service and helping them succeed. I can afford a small salary, but not benefits. What is the salary range for a VP Investment Consultant Private Banking in Zurich? What would be a bonus for a good performer? Thinking about moving to Switzerland.

I am looking to negotiate my compensation structure. I work for an FIA and I do two jobs. I completely manage the owners book of 150 mil AUM from service, creating new business, planning, and retaining. This doesn't include the big book of annuity only clients. I also try and get new business from leads.
My base pay is $60k with 10% of annuity commissions and 30% new aum first year only.

I am currently working for a public company and have previously work in banking. I am being offered the opportunity to enter a private equity firm, what do I have to take into account for culture differences and salary?

Deferred compensation programs are insane to me. I know we are "at will" employees but how it's legal always confuses me. It's one thing if it's in place when you get hired but for those where it wasn't, is bogus.

How do you handle comp plan changes? I’ve been with Pru 10 years and about to be on the 5th plan. They keep changing for the worse too. Very frustrating to keep doing a lot more production only to make a little more each year.
