Hello all! Brand new to the fishbowl but I would love some insight. I just got offered an entry level marketing position at Cisco headquarters in San Jose. They are offering a base pay of $76,200. I just graduated in December 2021 but have ~2 years of relevant experience. I did some calculations and I am going to be spending ~39% of my income in rent.

Should I negotiate for more? If so, what range?

I’m in my mid twenties and live in San Diego which I absolute love and couldn’t be happier. However, the cost of living just doesn’t make financial sense for us. I 100% do not want to move somewhere boring or cold, where can we look that is an good place for young professionals, walkable, and good weather?

What to do in San Antonio for 4 days?

Haven't travelled much at all since pandemic. Planning to do some driving from San Jose (rental pickup) to Monterey. Getting a little worried about the car break in frequency over there. Is it really bad or would it be ok once I left the SF area? I'll be a woman alone. Wondering if it's worth it.

My confession, I hate San Francisco and really most of California other than San Diego. It’s so dirty and overpriced especially San Fran with homeless everywhere doing drugs. Was never a big fan before but seeing it recently I don’t get why anyone chooses to live there.

When will California/San Francisco issue a law that requires employers to put salary band in job description, like New York City job postings now have to?

1. 24M with 6 YOE working at top Tech & Banks companies, currently at Microsoft.
2. Recently completed MSc of IT at a smaller university with a 3.9 CGPA
3. Completed Undergraduate with a horrible CGPA of 2.5 in Canada
4. Located San Jose CA
5. No GMAT Completed, unsure if I even want to do it

I am mainly looking at Online MBAs and was looking for some suggestions of where could I realistically get in.

3 Weeks alone in Europe - where would you go (moderate budget)?

My sister is spending the summer in Europe & already is spending time in Italy (Rome, Venice, Florence), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Malaga, Seville), Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, Faro), Greece, Istanbul & south of France.

I was thinking the north part of Spain (Leon, Bilbao, San Sebastián) for a week & maybe two weeks in England/Scotland but would love to hear y’all’s ideas!

1. Well-known Agency, worldwide offices, this would be for San Fran location with a team of 80 people, big brands, smaller role (Jr Art Director)

2. Mid-size Agency (80-100 people), Miami, good clients, experienced leaders coming from bigger companies, growing agency, bigger role (Art Director)

One is Junior Art Director at a well known Agency in San Francisco, and one is Art Director in a medium sized Agency (80-100 people) in Miami. Of course the big agency will have bigger brands, the smaller one also has some good clients, is growing very fast and I would also have a bigger role.

Don't know what would be best for my career path? Any suggestions would help!
