Question: I am moving from Canada to bay area, here in Canada, if you are new to the country with no credit history, you still get credit card from the bank and eventually you build your credit history, how does it work in the US? Do you get credit card from the bank as soon as you open account with them ?

How do you start the conversation about GC sponsorship with your employer? I feel it could be read as "he's trying to get out of the company" and yes having more options is a part of my motivation but also I want to buy a house and if for whatever reason I get laid off, I could more likely find another job without them having to sponsor a visa etc.
What's a good way to negotiate this?

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

Am I an asshole? An old friend of mine who has a dead end job but has lived with parents his entire life (meaning no expenses) has become hyper obsessed with Elon Musk and crypto. He recently posted a “flex” picture on instagram showing off his Amex Gold card. After two years of this I finally let him know that many of his old friends find his new behavior exhausting and I poked a bit of fun at his amex picture (said a credit card isn’t a fashion statement).

Do additional card holders also get lounge access with Amex Plat? (Paying the additional 175 to have the additional plat card)

I just graduated with a Health Science Degree and couldn’t find a job that would be enough to pay my bills (I have rent, car payments and credit card loans)! I was wondering what other options will there be as a career for the mean time I’m off school before doing grad school?
