Need advice navigating a conflict - I’m an analyst at the 8 month mark applying to part time grad school for Fall 2021 to complete while working. I’ve been working a lot with one manager that I’ve gotten close with. in November I asked for her to write a LOR for me by mid Jan. She said yes. I still do not have the LOR and have been periodically and politely reaching out... but the deadline is next Monday. How do I firmly communicate my concerns of the deadline while remaining polite?

How to handle internal $ negotiations? Interviewing for a new role, was initially hired on and under “leveled” w/r/t role, seniority, compensation @ top asset manager. Former manager didn’t appreciate or understand sell-side levels/titles when I was brought in. Current comp is huge point of frustration, but up for something better aligned with long-term goals. What is best way to tackle $ talks knowing they have my current comp? Will walk away from co. if unhappy/doesn’t work out. YOE:6

Fellow SF techies - I’m a senior Salesforce consultant/Delivery Manager with 5 years of SF implementation experience and 9 years of IT. 4 Certs. Implemented at least 8 enterprise projects. My company is going thru an acquisition and roadmap for future isn’t clear so I’m looking for new jobs. Anyone can refer me here? I’m also on my H1B visa so looking for companies that can sponsor. Should I interview for a company if I’m most likely going to turn down an offer if I get one? I had a call with HR as well as a call with the actual manager I’d be working with. They’ve been MIA for three weeks and just now got back to me about another interview. Tips for enterprise software Machine Learning Product Manager interview? Any recommended reading/advice?

McKinsey 🐠, any intel on the Practice Manager role? I've had a phone screen and been invited to interview, but I know little about the role. Sounds mostly internal, but they can deploy PMs to projects if needed. How is pay and WLB? Is this kind of role suitable for people with top 10 MBAs and client facing consulting experience at a non-MBB firm?

I am a newly promoted manager (~5months), I'm interviewing for manager at another big 4 (homegrown, so need better comp haha). 1st round was behavioural with a Partner and SM, but final round is with two newly promoted SMs. This doesn't add up. Has anyone had a similar experience? Why would they have more junior people do the final round interview? Thanks in advance!

Anyone work at Strategy& in the healthcare sector? I have some follow up interviews for an SA/Manager role but haven’t heard much about the culture. Trying to figure out if it would be a good fit for me.

I like my current position and company culture but pay is awful. Work 9-11 hr days on average. I would def work less but can’t do longer days.

What is the hierarchy in Google for the strategy roles - I recently applied and got rejected for the Head of Strategy and Operations, Google customer solutions. Seems I didn’t have enough experience. I have earlier interviewed for Strategy and Ops - Manager role, made it to R2 and got derailed due to Covid. Now I have applied to Product Strategy Lead (which JD says is suitable for EMs transitioning to tech). Is Lead above Manager? What does lead even mean?

I have a job interview tomorrow with an employment litigation firm (under 10 attorneys). The two people interviewing me will be the office manager and an attorney (maybe partner? No info on that person on the website). I've never been interviewed by an office manager, so I'm thinking it's more of a screening session. Just did an interview with the hiring manager and waiting to hear back if I made it to the next round. In my thank you email to the hiring manager, I had 1 typo in the email. Did I potentially just blow my changes or am I being too paranoid? It’s a comms role too 😭. Once I noticed my mistake I just resent after I corrected the typo.

Are all S&O manager roles L4-6? Interviewing for a role which asks for min 5 YOE. I only have 4.5 - I’ve only interviewed for more junior positions at G so when the recruiter asked for my comp expectations I was honestly unsure. What should I be asking? He mentioned I should start getting a number in mind.
