It is absolutely insane to me how recruiter ghosting is acceptable in the world of working professionals.

I don’t care how busy they are. They seem to respond really promptly to all of my emails, but the second I am no longer of use to them, they’re too busy to fire off a ten word email.

Sending one more email letting me know that I’m not being considered for a position does not take long.

And after I took time out of my day to interview, it is the absolute least they can do.

Interviewing for an AVP role after only 13 months of working. What kind of questions might trip me up and is there anything I should make sure to do? (Dept: TFI/support to traders)

I interviewed with Citi's internal audit last week and they said after the interview was over I would hear back next week. So far, crickets. I kind of need a job right now. The jobs site still says "business review" as far as application status goes.

Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Have been hunting desperately for childcare bc spouse and I are both FT lawyers trying to handle 4 immunocompromised elementary age kids at home but have been striking out. Have even been considering having one of us take a leave, going part time (career suicide/knock us off partner track) or quitting. Just found someone highly recommended, experienced, patient, etc. Interview went super well but candidate disclosed they are in recovery for substance abuse, last relapse 2 yrs ago. DUI. Thoughts?

Folks who do hiring, what do you think of adopting the following question in future interviews?

A company I am interviewing with has a First Generation Low Income affinity group. I am a first generation academic from a poor background - should I mention that one of the reasons why I picked this firm is their commitment to my category of people and my desire to contribute? Currently interviewing at JPMorgan in their CIB division for a associate operations role. Have met with 5 people for two different teams and another person for another team, all of which I believe are 3 total open positions for 3 different teams. Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.
