When is a 3 page resume acceptable?
Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

it helps if your manager is aware of your intentions. Sometimes they'll even go up to bat fr you
Don't tell them. I told mine I was and I basically have to leave the firm now because my rating is going to be low. If the manager asks you if they can go to your manager for a review, tell them only after you have accepted an offer. Otherwise, tell them you haven't told your management team, but you will.
That's tricky because technically you have to let them know...but I have seen that backfire on some people after they let the manager know and the job didn't pan out. So timing is everything.
You should let them know, recruiters/HR reaches out. Just let them know your interested in applying. I'd personally let my manager know - they can help sometimes. Also, I'd work with the recruiter.
JPM5 ^ That's horrible - you should call HR...
I honestly wouldn't but it depends on the case and relationship. Regardless of whether you are on good terms or bad , the minute you say something , things will change so ensure you are ready for that.
Basically I thought about it like telling a serious ex that I was engaged. I dated a bunch opportunities, but only settled on one once I was sure it was "the one." Once I submitted my application, and got engaged with the new job, although not yet married, I felt comfortable telling my ex job that I found someone.
A lot will depend on your relationship with your manager. I had a manager in the past who was not very supportive in general and had a history of being vindictive, so I wouldn't have told her if I was looking internally, let alone looking at all.
Depends on the relationship with your manager. Mine knew that I wasn't happy in the role and actually asked me. Because our relationship was good, he actually helped me move internally to a different role. It also makes it easier to apply and network when they know. But again depends on your relationship.
JPM5 ^ sorry to hear that. That's insane. So once you told him or her, she purposely lowered your ratings? That is savage
In my group you can't tell. If you tell, what happened to me happens to you. There are others since me who are now in the same situation. I've learned my lesson from this.
Thanks everyone for the response -- completely agree that it depends with your relationship with the manager
Yeah you do, because once you actually do an interview, the team you are interviewing with will most likely reach out to the team you are currently on. So they are gonna find out anyways.
I told mine once I started applying, they should help you and be an advocate. If not, then... good thing you're leaving!
i didn't tell mine until i had offer in hand. neither my new group nor HR informed him until i did
