Anyone have Marketing Director salary insight for AEG/ASM Global? Feel like I’m getting lowballed by the hiring agency? Lol

Is close to two years at an agency a long enough stint if I’m miserable here? Or is it frowned upon by recruiters and hiring managers as job-hopping and wanting to leave too early?

Hi! I’m looking to collect some salary data for other Director/VP level folks within the PM or Operations field. I am a Director PM with ~10yrs experience & have been with my company for 4 years. For the past year in this role, I have been responsible for running 12-14 accounts simultaneously, ~$60M in revenue, ~185 employees, and my current salary is $150k. I am well aware that a handful of my peers make $160k+ but curious as to what others in the industry feel is fair.

Hey y’all, just received a $75k job offer for a mid level PM role at an agency here in Austin. 2.5 YOE w/ a proper PM title, 3.75 YOE total w/ PM duties but not a title. Client is a new business win, high capacity output and high-expectations client. Wondering if this feels accurate for the market. TIA!

Received three separate LinkedIn InMails - each from a different recruiter - probing whether I’d be interested in an ACD role, paying less than a quarter my current day rate. My profile clearly states I’ve been an ECD for ten years.

I lost my shit in my reply.

Recruiters: There are TONS of insanely talented creatives trying to land ACD roles who deserve their shot! Quit being so fucking lackadaisical and help them! I’d hire them if I could, but I can’t.

What is average salary for a project manager in TX (Austin) with 3 years experience working at a mid sized ad agency? I got an offer for $60k. Glassdoor is showing a wide range for this position…

Thoughts on moving to a different agency from current agency?

Pros of Current Agency:
-unlimited PTO
-great work life balance
-they care so much about their people

Pros of Other Agency:
-higher pay
-potential job I’d be considered for is super exciting to me

Cons of Current Agency:
-low pay
-pay is not considered competitive
-may be a bit until I get promoted/rotated
-I feel pretty stuck in my current role

Cons of Other:
-not unlimited PTO
-not sure what work life balance really is

I recently had to help my ECD with creative recruitment as we’re a small agency. I used to take being ghosted or ignored quite personally but since doing this, I totally get it. We made a post on LinkedIn and god, the type of candidates you get. The amount of people who weren’t even remotely qualified for the job reaching out was absurd. Like hey I’d love to consider you but how does your history of working as a chef make you qualified for a Sr Creative role?

What agencies are currently hiring juniors? Won gold in The Young Ones a few months ago but no luck so far.

I’m trying to decide how big of a bump to negotiate in my next role. I’ve done my research and have a range in mind + a number I won’t go lower than. For those of you that have hopped around, what kind of bump do you typically seek? So many variables, but if you could weigh in with how you landed on your number and how much more it was than your previous role, I’d love to hear. How much was your largest jump? I’m switching paths, so it’s not a promo but not necessarily lateral.

In this age of prevalent hybrid / wfh remote, what if anything is the role of the office if not perhaps a cushy place to meet face to face periodically and strengthen team and client bonds?

With that thought, if you’re asking me to come to the office, maybe there should be food, bagels, team family-style lunches, cold brew coffee in the fridge, etc.

Editing houses have always been big on hospitality, maybe this is part of the model if you want ppl onsite?

I’m currently interviewing for an AS role which would be a bit of a pay cut, but I’ll get to learn a lot so I’m interested. Any tips on how to approach the negotiation convo if/when that comes, besides asking to at least meet me halfway re:salary? They already provide unlimited PTO and free health benefits(which is nice).

I’m currently an Account Manager but would like to transition into a more creative role, what steps should I take? Still in the early stages of my career so I feel like I have a lot of flexibility just unsure how to navigate in the industry.

I was just let go from my company which I really enjoyed working at after only 9 months in a newly created role. I was completely blindsided and told it’s was due to scope and organizational changes. I had no performance reviews or discussions leading up to termination. It didn’t seem like this was a performance driven decision, but I feel completely left in the dark and unsure what to do in this economic climate. Should I ask for more severance (4wk/2 paychecks is what they offered)?

What does a creative resource manager do? I just got hired at a big agency. I met my team, including my partner and my CD & ECD, who hired me. But later in the day someone stop by at my desk & said he is a creative resource manager & my supervisor who gives me assignments & approve my time offs. During my hiring process & orientation day everyone said my CD is my supervisor who assign me projects & approve my time offs. Did he do a Power move on me? I will be nice but didn’t like the attitude!

I’m about to make the jump from senior to ACD. What advice can you give me for my new position?

On the media buying agency side, what position has the most market demand and the most career development potential? Personally I feel that programmatic and search are paid more and more needed than social or OOH, not sure if that’s really the case. Also I feel like media planners or say account managers are somehow paid less in the beginning of their career, but have more room to grow in the future. Very personal thoughts and welcome all opinions!

Sooo I have always had a passion for Ikea and have been wanting to be a part of their marketing team since I graduated college way back. I have 8 years experience and I'm just waiting for an opportunity to open up for a while but I have barely ever seen a non entry level position show up on my alerts or feeds. I search frequently like daily/weekly.

I'm willing to apply to an entry level position just to get my foot in the door but the question is.. should I?

Do agencies always hire after winning new biz? If so, how long after winning will they start looking for people/hiring?

I don’t care what your title or position is, take 5 minutes to learn how to use PowerPoint, keynote, google slides or whatever presentation tool you are using at a basic level. If a presentation specialist or graphic designer has already created the deck, respect their time, use common sense and follow the rules established.

And for the art directors that have to concept, comp, do deck design and then clean it up again and again, major respect as well.

Anyone ever taken a promotion/more senior role that they felt they weren’t actually ready for? How did it turn out?

Do I know any LA or NYC agencies hiring for CDs? Been long term freelancing for a few years (2 year gig at Facebook, 1 year at Gut Miami) and been slow moving trying to land a full time role again.

any advice for mentoring a fresh out of college art director? I offered some advice to a young creative for their linkedin profile and they asked to be my mentee. truthfully I’ve never mentored anyone but I want to help this person. I just feel slightly unprepared to guide someone to landing their first AD position. they need a lot of coaching for their portfolio and job search mostly

New to the industry & working in finance, in my role do you think it matters what agency is “better” than another being that finance is pretty standard? I think comparing agencies would be more important if you’re a creative or working in strategy. I get “better agency” = better work which drives rev/profits & prevents lay offs but I would think finance would be one of the last depts to be laid off. Have an opportunity for a finance role at a diff agency that may not be as “good” but pays more

Creatives who left for tech. What is it exactly that you do now? Is it still writing or art directing? Or a different creative role? Hearing about people leaving for tech so I want to know what it means exactly aside from the benefits.

Best paid position in an agency?

I saw like a bunch of answers and complicated graphs when I Google-searched “salary range of a Toronto-based copywriter”. I am an immigrant copywriter who still converts currencies while making buying decisions. Could a kind soul from HR or anyone privy to that info clarify what an experienced copywriter should make or how much they should quote while interviewing for a role at a global agency? Not changing jobs or anything, just curious!
